Manager Donnie Kelly says that after being swept by the Dodgers to start the road trip, the Pirates bounced back.

While his Pirates teammates are battling at the Major League level, Konnor Griffin finally got back on the field last night, starting a rehab stint by going 1-for-3 with an infield single for Altoona. He is returning from a fractured sagittal band on his left ring finger.
Griffin says the hand felt fine.
The shortstop is anxious to get back to the Pirates as soon as he is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list, this Friday.
On Pirates Insider on WCCS yesterday, general manager Ben Cherington talked about several injured Bucs, two of whom can come back this season and one who will have to wait until next year.
Cherington says Griffin will be in Pittsburgh for the off day today, and the team will then decide if he heads east to Harrisburg with the Curve, or west to Toledo, where Triple-A Indianapolis will play this week.
Cherington says first baseman Ryan O’Hearn is making progress toward a return from a quad injury.
As for Endy Rodriguez, who had hip surgery last Thursday, the GM says the next few months will be a quest for information on whether or not the often-injured catcher can stay at that position.
The Pirates are off today and start a three-game series at PNC Park tomorrow night against the Giants.
