At a special meeting Wednesday night, the River Valley School Board approved mold testing service agreements with Ed Lampl of Environmental Moisture Assessment and Mold Testing Services for both the Saltsburg and Blairsville locations.
The additional testing comes after white mold was discovered in Saltsburg Elementary School that prompted students there to be switched to remote learning. Crews from Mold Pro have been called in to Harper says that the split system they use for their heating and air conditioning was overwhelmed by the humidity over the last month.
This will mark the second time the Saltsburg buildings will be tested, and Harper said it will be good to get a second opinion.
The board is hopeful that they will be able to bring students back to Saltsburg Elementary by September 18th.
