IUP has risen to number 12 in the AFCA Coaches Poll this week and to number 18 according to D2Football.com.
The 2-0 Crimson Hawks beat West Chester in double overtime on Saturday night after opening the season with a win at Ashland. This Saturday, they play their third straight game on the road, at 1-1 Shippensburg.
Also from the PSAC, Kutztown is ranked third by the coaches and fourth by D2Football, and Slippery Rock is 11th in the AFCA poll and 14th by D2Football.
IUP punter and kickoff specialist Gavin Mentzer is the PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week. He punted seven times against West Chester including a 66-yard boomer.
