Indiana County firefighters were summoned for two structure fires early on Sunday.
The first dispatch was at 3:47 AM for a working residential fire along Indiana Road in Creekside Borough. Firefighters from Creekside, Indiana, Plumville, Elderton, and Marion Center were called into action, with Dayton called for standby in the Plumville station, Clymer standing by at Marion Center.
The second fire was reported at 5:13 AM at an apartment complex along Susan Drive in Burrell Township. It was a reported exhaust fan fire in a bathroom at one of the apartments. The fire was quickly put out but with the amount of smoke pouring out of the ceiling, firefighters were checking out the attic area for possible extension.
Blairsville, Blacklick, Coral-Graceton, Homer City, Clyde, Armagh-East Wheatfield, and Indiana fire companies were dispatched, with some recalled to their stations soon after.
