The Penguins have had their way with Winnipeg in their last two dozen games at home. They are 21-0-3 against the Jets going all the way back to 2007, and 18-8-0 in their last 26 games. But they have lost three out of the last four times they’ve played Winnipeg heading into tonight’s game at PPG Paints Arena.
The Pens are 2-0 and the Jets are 1-1. Both teams won on Saturday, the Penguins 6-5 over Montreal in overtime, and the Jets 3-2 at Detroit last night.
Coach Dan Muse has had to make some tough lineup choices over the first two games. Forwards Ben Kindel and Andrei Kuzmenko returned to the ice, and Muse inserted them in place of Ville Koivunen and Ilya Solovyov. He said it was a hard decision to make, especially with Koivunen.
Muse says right now he’s searching for playing time for some talented skaters.
