There were only two absences from Steelers practice yesterday. Defensive backs Brandin Echols and Doneiko Slaughter both sat out with hamstring injuries. Linebacker Alex Highsmith and receiver Ben Skowronek both were limited, while everybody else on the roster was listed as a full participant.
The Steelers currently have six players on injured reserve with a designation for a return to play and coach Mike McCarthy said all six do have a chance to play again this year. Receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson, offensive linemen Gennings Dunker and Jack Driscoll, and defensive linemen Derrick Harmon and Sebastian Joseph-Day are all on the IR.
Dunker and Driscoll are eligible to return now. Pittman and Harmon could come back after Sunday’s game, and they’ll get an extra week of downtime as the Steelers will be on their bye next week.
The Packers took down the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday Night Football.
A huge NFL trade yesterday. Titans All-Pro defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and a fifth round draft pick were sent to the Bears for two number one draft choices and a fourth rounder.
