The Penguins suffered another last-minute defeat last night, dropping their third straight game.
Paul Steigerwald has the story.
The Penguins were 0-for-6 on the power play while Vegas went 2-for-4. Coach Dan Muse said afterward that they’re getting better with the man advantage, but are obviously not good enough.
Muse says the season-long pattern of poor defense continues to plague the Pens.
Evgeni Malkin did not play last night after taking part in the morning skate. He has an undisclosed injury. After missing practice the day before, defenseman Kaedan Korczak did play.
The Pens recalled defenseman Jake Livanavage from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before the game. He and defenseman Ilya Solovyov were healthy scratches last night.
The Penguins play the Bruins tomorrow night at PPG Paints Arena before taking off for a three-city California tour that starts Saturday in Los Angeles against the Kings.
