United was the last undefeated basketball team in Pennsylvania heading into last night’s boys Double-A state semifinal game. Unfortunately for the Lions, they came up just short of a trip to Hershey.
Todd Marino has the recap.
United coach Matt Rodkey admired the “Go Blue” attitude of his Lions.
Rodkey says goodbye to a group of five seniors, all of whom will hold a special place in his heart.
While they bid farewell to seniors Carter Payne, Dmitri Worthington, Connor Darr, Brady Robertson, and Jake Burkett, United will welcome back a core group of letter winners next season, including Ryan Felix, Brody Burkett, Cole McGinnis, and Brendan James.
In the boys Double-A championship on Friday, Old Forge will take on WPIAL champion Sewickley Academy, a 64-39 winner over Mercyhurst Prep last night.
