SOFTBALL
Ella Gaston hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and a dropped third strike led to another run as Marion Center rallied for a 5-3 win over United. Kennedi Fiochetta had three hits for the Lions and Peyton Thomas had two.
Conemaugh Valley outscored Homer-Center, 6-3. Maddie McCleester was 4-for-4 for the Blue Jays and Kylie Ferguson and Danilee Toth each had two hits. For the Wildcats, Bri Birchall, Bry Haer, and Kylee Beer all had two hits, and all had a double.
West Shamokin clobbered Northern Cambria, 10-0. Leah Mondi gave up just two hits, recorded her 300th career strikeout, and was 4-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Abbi Kimmel, and Cameron Vandervort each had two hits for the Wolves.
Portage walloped Penns Manor, 14-2. Reese Pinizzotto was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Kendall Stancovich was also 3-for-4, while Mikaila McCoy had two hits. Pinizzotto struck out five over six innings, giving up just two hits.
BASEBALL
Homer-Center led, 4-0 after two innings, but Conemaugh Valley rallied for a 6-5 win over the Wildcats, helped along by a three-run seventh. Five separate players each had one hit for Homer-Center. Hunter Blough had two hits for CV.
Portage scored in all but one inning and beat Penns Manor, 12-0. Easton Slanoc, Connor Sciko, and Dom Berardinelli each had two hits for the Mustangs.
Northern Cambria piled up 15 hits and beat West Shamokin, 11-4. Reese Wagner had three hits, and Zach Cavallo, Zak Kirsch, Braden Bougher, Brady Hoover, Parker Shutty, and Connur Solley all had two hits. For the Wolves, Kash Julius and Nick Krizmanich each had two hits.
