At Tuesday night’s meeting, Homer City Borough Council announced that they were close to hiring a solicitor to help with issues concerning Homer City Redevelopment.
Borough Solicitor Michael Supinka represents Homer City Redevelopment, representing a conflict of interest. Personnel Committee Member Christina Worcester said that they have interviewed two prospective solicitors, but with the latest interview taking place Tuesday afternoon, they felt it was not proper to make a decision that night. She talked about what this solicitor will do for the borough.
Until they have that solicitor in place, borough council will not make any remarks concerning the Homer City Redevelopment project. A special meeting is planned for later this month to hire the special solicitor.
In other business, it was announced Waste Management will soon distribute new garbage cans for borough residents to use. The cans are to be used with the trucks using a mechanical arm to lift the garbage can and dump its contents into the truck. These will be similar to the ones in Indiana Borough.
