The Heritage Conference held its track and field championship meet at RVSD Athletic Complex (River Valley) on Tuesday and the United Lions boys’ and Cambria Heights girls’ teams came away with team championships. For the Lions, the team championship was their fourth in a row.
United was led by senior Logan Lichtenfels, who took first place in the boys’ 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles, and by relay wins in the 4×400 and 4×800, plus a second place in the 4×100. Senior Matthew Beaver won in the 800 meters, and senior Carter Payne took first in the high jump.
Cambria Heights senior Brielle McMillen won the girls’ 100 meters, long jump and triple jump and senior teammate Rachel McClellan captured the girls’ 100 meter hurdles, took second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
Purchase Line sophomore Maddox Frantz was the boys’ 100 and 200 meters winner.
Penns Manor senior Brady Lewis swept throwing events with wins in the boys’ javelin, shot put and discus. Homer-Center junior Maggie Voyda won in the girls’ discus and shot put.
Northern Cambria senior Emilee Depetro was the girls’ 200 and 400 meters winner. Conemaugh Township sophomore Hudson Lease won in the boys’ 1600 and 3200 meters, while United junior Olivia Henning was the winner in the same races on the girls’ side.
