First responders had a busy day yesterday.
The day began with a structure fire reported at 2:53 a.m.. Indiana Fire Association was sent to a 6-unit apartment building on 11th Street, where it was found that an outside trashcan had caught fire. The blaze spread to an exterior staircase, causing moderate damage, but the main building remained unharmed. No one was displaced or injured. Crews were on scene for about two hours.
There were also two instances of landing zones being set up. The first was on Route 403 North in Green Township at 4:27 p.m.. Commodore Fire Department was dispatched at the time. The second happened at 7:30 p.m. on Smyrna Road in South Mahoning Township. Plumville fire department was sent to assist.
An automatic fire alarm activation was also reported just before midnight for a location on North 4th street in Indiana Borough. Indiana Fire Association responded.
