The Steelers have signed sixth-round draft pick Gabriel Rubio to a four-year contract.
Rubio, a defensive end out of Notre Dame, was selected 210th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. He played in 39 career games for the Fighting Irish, recording 66 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and one-and-a-half sacks. Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham says Rubio’s size, length, and ability to stop the run make him a strong fit for the team’s defensive front. Rubio also brings versatility along the line, which is something Graham says is key for the Steelers’ scheme. He’s also got Pittsburgh ties. Rubio is the son of former Steelers nose tackle Angel Rubio, and says his father has already been offering advice as he begins his NFL career.
