The Purchase Line school board meets Monday night, with a very extensive agenda dealing with the start of the new school year. It includes the district’s fiscal budget, which is about $22.5 million and will be balanced by application of a fund balance of more than a million dollars, plus a 2.5 percent increase in real estate taxes for district residents of both Indiana and Clearfield counties. The agenda also includes a large number of personnel items, including several coach hirings; the superintendent’s evaluation; business manager’s contract; and the hiring of a new assistant principal/special education coordinator at the high school.
Marion Center’s school board will also meet on Monday for a work session, with discussion of a $31.2 million budget which includes a real estate tax increase of 4.5 percent. Also up for consideration are a number of personnel items and agreements and arrangements for services for the upcoming school year.
River Valley’s Student Activities/Athletics Committee meets on Monday and the school board will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday. Penns Manor’s board meets on Wednesday. Homer-Center’s Buildings & Grounds Committee and full school board will meet on Thursday.
