A 63-year-old Smicksburg man is facing multiple charges after police say he pointed a loaded handgun at another man and nearly struck two people with his vehicle during a dispute in Punxsutawney on July 6.
According to an ExplorerJeffersonpa.com article, authorities allege Thomas George Kerr threatened to shoot the victim, later told officers he “would have shot him if I had to,” and also threatened to retrieve a rifle. Police seized a loaded 9mm handgun from Kerr, who has a valid concealed carry permit.
Kerr is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and harassment, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 22.
