Baseball’s best take over the City of Brotherly Love on Tuesday when the National League squares off against the American League in the MLB All-Star Game from Philadelphia. Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez is slated to get the start for the NL. Sanchez is the 14th pitcher to start the Midsummer Classic in his home ball park. He will be opposed by Blue Jays’ righty Dylan Cease and the rest of the AL. Cease represents Toronto’s first All-Star starting pitcher since Roy Halladay in 2009. The American League leads the all-time series 48-45-and-2.
The Pirates are represented with two players. Paul Skenes was voted in, but will not pitch as he is not eligible to do so due to him starting on Sunday in the Pirates win over Milwaukee. Braxton Ashcraft will take his place.
