Altoona won its third straight game, topping Erie 9-5. Will Taylor bashed a three-run home run and Jesus Castillo added a solo shot. Matt King had three hits and two stolen bases and Taylor, Titus Dumitru and Murf Gray each had two hits. Making his 121st career appearance for the Curve, Aaron Shortridge earned his first career save, striking out the first four hitters he faced while pitching the eighth and ninth innings.
Dominic Pipkin starts for Altoona tonight.
