The rain came to an end just in time for the 29th annual Hoodlebug Festival in Homer City on Sunday.
Penny Perman with the festival said that it was the “perfect day” for the festival once again.
At the traditional flag-raising ceremony, a moment of silence was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of September 11th, 2001. This year’s event included a parade themed to America’s 250th anniversary, and included performances by the Homer-Center Marching Band and the Indiana County Fife and Drum Corps.
Only one change was needed due to the weather. As there was a lot of rain that came down on Saturday, the duck race was modified to a random draw.
The festival was honored for it’s 29th year with an official proclamation from the Indiana County Commissioners, which was presented by Commissioner Bonni Dunlap at the festival.
