The first run of the “superloads” taking equipment to the Homer City Generation power plant site is so far a success and the second part of that run will take place today.
The trip started yesterday in Armstrong County and went through parts of Westmoreland County before ending up on Route 22 last night and stopping near Blairsville.
Edwards Rigging and Hauling Project Manager Willie Sanford said that yesterday saw very few problems with the run.
The transport left the Southpoint the building in the 8:00 hour and are expected to be on the Homer City Generating campus by noon today.
Haulers Edwards Moving and Rigging say in a post on their Facebook page that the first portion of Campbells Mill Road near 119 will be temporarily closed to accommodate the vehicles. Motorists should expect delays and use caution along the route and where necessary, allow some extra travel time.
