The second half of the high school football season kicks off tonight with four IRMC High School Football Friday Night games on our Renda Media network of stations.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, 4-1 Homer-Center visits 3-2 Purchase Line in the Wildcats’ third straight Homecoming game, this time at Barry T. Madill Field.
Homer-Center coach Greg Page says the Red Dragons might be a surprise to some, but not to him.
Page says Purchase Line has tremendous speed.
Purchase Line coach Matt Falisec says Homer-Center is a really tough matchup, starting with quarterback Carson Arone.
Falisec says he’s learned a lot by reviewing the video of last year’s 27-7 Homer-Center win.
On 92.5 FM U92, two 4-1 football teams go at it as Marion Center visits Conemaugh Township.
Stingers coach Adam Rising says quarterback Troy Slovinsky, last week’s IRMC Renda Media Player of the Week, will have to face a tough Indians defense and will have to make good decisions with his arm and his legs.
On Cat Country 106.3 FM, 1-4 United Valley hopes to build on the momentum of last week’s win over Conemaugh Valley against 3-2 River Valley, which is coming off a close loss to Homer-Center last week.
Panthers coach Ed Dalton says the Lions’ coach Lou McElwee has a young, athletic team.
United Valley coach Lou McElwee says River Valley’s offense will make you pay if you’re out of position.
The other games in the Heritage Conference tonight include undefeated Cambria Heights hosting winless Conemaugh Valley, 1-4 Penns Manor at 2-3 Portage, and 2-3 Northern Cambria visiting 1-4 West Shamokin.
The IRMC High School Football Friday pregame shows for Homer-Center/Purchase Line and United Valley/River Valley begin at 6:15 tonight, and for Marion Center/Conemaugh Township at 6:30.
