At last week’s board meeting of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, Byron Stauffer Jr. of the Office of Planning and Development told the directors that the County Commissioners are considering opening another public comment portal specifically for the Amazon Web Services preliminary land development plan at the Homer City Energy Campus. He said the new portal would be hosted at his office’s website, icopd.org, along with all of the plan’s application materials.
A previous portal in June and July was before the Amazon application was made and dealt with large-scale development and the county’s subdivision and land development ordinance (SALDO).
Among other topics, Stauffer also told the board about the nearly complete hangar project and the runway rehabilitation project at the Jimmy Stewart Airport. He said the asbestos removal at the Carriage House and Essex House apartment complex is being completed in preparation for demolition. And he announced that approximately $1.5 million in funding will support the next phase of infrastructure improvements at the Windy Ridge Business & Technology Park, including a new access road connecting the park to Rustic Lodge Road.
