The Penguins are 0-3 on their four-game road trip, with losses to Chicago, Colorado, and Vegas. Tonight they will get the chance to salvage a game on the western swing, as they take on the Utah Mammoth in Salt Lake City.
Defenseman Erik Karlsson said the Penguins’ “folded” when they fell behind early against Vegas on Saturday, and forward Bryan Rust said, “I think we’ve got to regroup and we’ve got to come back and play a little bit of an angrier game and a harder game and a more straightforward game on Monday.”
Yesterday, the Pens sent newly-acquired defenseman Ryan Johnson to Wilkes-Barre-Scranton and recalled defenseman Ilya Solovyov.
The Penguins are 3-5-1. The Mammoth are 6-3-0. Faceoff is scheduled shortly after 9 PM, with the airtime on 92.5 FM U92 at 8.
