At Steelers’ practice yesterday, linebacker Alex Highsmith was limited again with a groin injury. He played with that injury on Sunday in Paris. Wide receiver and special teams ace Ben Skowronek returned to practice on a limited basis after missing the last two games with a calf injury. Defensive backs Brandin Echols and Doneiko Slaughter sat out, both with hamstring injuries.
The Steelers and Browns play on Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. Cleveland won the first meeting, 27-24 on an Andre Szmyt 56-yard field goal with ten seconds left.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had rallied the Steelers to tie the game with 1:42 left, throwing a three-yard touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth and then punching in the two-point conversion on a quarterback sneak. He says he loves playing fourth-quarter football.
Defensive lineman Cam Heyward said after the first Cleveland game that the Steelers made too many “self-inflicted wounds,” and Cleveland has shown they can come back in the fourth quarter. Deshaun Watson has led fourth-quarter game-winning drives in all five Cleveland wins this season.
Browns star edge rusher Jared Verse did not practice yesterday with a knee injury. Center Elgton Jenkins was also out with a knee and tackle Tytus Howard sat out with a concussion.
