Meanwhile, IUP continues to cling to the eighth spot in the latest Super Region One Division Two poll. The Crimson Hawks had to rally from seven points down in the fourth quarter to beat Gannon, 17-14 on Saturday, improving to 6-3 while Gannon has won only once this season, and is 1-8.
The new Super Region One rankings have Slippery Rock number one, followed by East Stroudsburg, which beat previously unbeaten Kutztown, 32-25 in overtime on Saturday. Kutztown is third, with Virginia Union fourth, Johnson C. Smith fifth, Virginia State sixth, then Cal U and IUP, which leads ninth-place Bloomsburg by just 25-one-thousandths of a percentage point.
IUP will host 4-5 Clarion on Saturday, then close the regular season at home against Shepherd. Bloomsburg, by the way, has a tough final two games…at Kutztown and at Cal U.
