Dorothy M. States, 86, of Diamondville, PA died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Andrew’s Village in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Ralph B. and Amelia A. (Knarr) States, she was born on August 23, 1932 in Clover Run, Clearfield Co., PA.
Dorothy was a member of the Diamondville United Methodist Church.
Prior to her retirement, she had housecleaned at various businesses and private homes. Two of Dorothy’s favorite hobbies were crocheting and reading.
She is survived by her niece, Linda Watterson of Diamondville, PA; great niece, Bethany Lemmon and husband Chad and their children: Haylee and Hayden Lemmon of Diamondville, PA and niece, Vonda Shaffer of Diamondville, PA and great nephew, Tom Shaffer and wife Vicki of Latrobe, PA.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harry E. States; her sisters: Betty States and Mabel Detwiler and her nephew, Larry E. States.
Family and friends will be received from 2-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where immediately following the visitation a 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Caleb Fugate. Interment will be at the Uniontown Cemetery, Cherry Tree, PA.
