There’s no state police update on the status of Ray Shetler Jr., the 37-year-old New Florence man who was found not guilty of murder charges three years ago in the 2015 shooting death of Saint Clair Township police officer Lloyd Reed. Shetler is wanted for failing to appear for a court hearing on a probation violation for his sentence for theft and receiving stolen property in the same case.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on Friday and state police posted a picture of a red Dodge pickup that he is believed to be driving, with the advisory to not approach him, but to simply call 911 or the Greensburg barracks at 724-832-3288.

A Westmoreland County Probation Officer told Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio that he talked by phone with Shetler, who told him that he would not appear for the hearing, and would not tell him where he is living. He is known to frequent the New Florence and Derry areas.
