John Anthony Zemba, 81, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home.
The son of John J. and Mildred D. (Connico) Zemba, he was born on September 27, 1942 in Salem Twp., Westmoreland County, PA.John worked in the coal mines until his retirement.
He was a member of the Blairsville VFW Post #5821, B.P.O.E. #406 Blairsville, Blairsville Fraternal Order of Eagles #1488, Red Barn Sportsman Club and Derry Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving is a daughter, Beth Ann Small (Chuck) of Blairsville; and two grandchildren, Emily and Charlie Small.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Alice Ann (Ash) Zemba on June 14, 2018, and two sisters, Mary Sue Stineviser and Rose Marie Kwak.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Lucas, officiating.
Interment will be in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
