Mary “Mary Lou” Louisa Thompson, 89, of Home, formerly of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
A daughter of the late James Harold and Margaret Louisa (McCrea) Gibson, she was born April 24, 1934, in Indiana.
Mary Lou graduated from Blairsville High School in 1952 and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and for over 20 years, Mary Lou was a volunteer at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time “RVing” at the Big Bear Campground in West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Thompson, of Home; children: Peggy Patterson, of Indiana; Bruce Patterson and wife Kathy, of McMurray; James “Jim” Patterson, of Indiana; Melissa (Cribbs) Folman and husband Joel, of Greensboro; and Robert Cribbs, Jr., of Clarksville; grandchildren: Joshua Folman and wife Amber; Katie (Patterson) Cippel and husband Josh; Jill Patterson and Scott Patterson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Patterson; her second husband, Robert Cribbs; a daughter-in-law, Lorna Cribbs and a brother, James Gibson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.
