The IUP campus turns quieter this week as Spring Break begins. Classes will resume March 18th.
Meanwhile, there is still no tentative agreement announced for the IUP faculty contract, after an agreement in principle between the State System and APSCUF was announced in mid-January. At that time, attorneys were to begin work on the final language of the deal. Faculty members at the state-owned universities have been working under the terms of a contract that expired last June 30th.
Negotiations continue on a new contract for State System coaches. APSCUF coach executive leader John Gump said after the last session on February 26th that the union believes it is close to an agreement, but he added it’s “extremely frustrating” that the other side is “unable to respond to APSCUF’s proposals.”
The next talks are scheduled for March 25th.
